ART with Mrs. Sweet
Bio and Education Experience:
Welcome to the Art Studio! I taught Art at Region 6 for over 20 years, with nine years at the middle and high school and fourteen years at the elementary schools. This will be my third year teaching at Region 20.
Prior to teaching art, I attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, majoring in Illustration and Art Education. I lived in Boston working with Ziff-Davis Publishing Company as a Graphic Designer and Assistant Art Director. I pursued the freelance world, SeedTime Studio, and have been published with Random House, Gourmet Magazine and McDonalds. I found my passion in teaching with Regions 6 and 20. I have been an Art Teacher ever since.
Fun Facts:
I live locally. I am married, have two grown-up boys who are creative individuals, a Golden Retriever named "Quigley" and a cat named "Onca." I love to walk, cook, garden, read, watch movies, listen to music and make art. Some of my favorite artists are Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh and David Hockney. My favorite illustrators are Susan Farrington, Eric Carle and Maurice Sendak. I used to be a private chef for a Rockerfeller. I am a coffee enthusiast and avid fan of cappuccino.
