Wamogo High School Agriscience Named Outstanding Program in the Nation

The Agriscience program at Wamogo Regional High School in Litchfield, CT was named a 2018 Outstanding Secondary Ag Education Program by the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE).

"The AgSci progam at WAMOGO has developed into and been recognized as one of the best progams in this nation," said Board of Education Chair Heather Connor. "This award is the result of hard work by students, parents, staff, and our communities. Everyday our students and staff are going above and beyond for this program. As a Board, as a district, we could not be prouder of their accomplishments."

This award is presented to only six programs across the nation. The award is based on several criteria including the program's mission and goals, student experiential learning programs, student participation in leadership programs such as the FFA, school and community partnerships, program marketing and teacher professional growth. The Wamogo Agriscience program will be recognized at a dinner and awards ceremony this November in San Antonio, Texas.

"The Agriscience program has long been a source of pride for WAMOGO, but this prestigious recognition now demonstrates excellence on a national level,” said WAMOGO Principal Sabin Loveland.  “We are fortunate to have such a dedicated school community and I am looking forward to the continued growth and success of the program."
