Dear Region 6 Community,

I wanted to provide you with an update on district actions and preparations with respect to Coronavirus.

We receive regular updates and guidance from the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  At this time there are no confirmed cases in Connecticut. Although we all hope for no interruption to education, we will follow guidelines and continue to prepare for numerous scenarios in an evolving world health issue.

All districts across the state have received clarification and guidance from the Department of Administrative Services with respect to cleaning products. The Facilities Department will work diligently to follow these guidelines and maintain clean, disinfected, and healthy learning environments.

I have met with the administrative team and we are finalizing contingency plans should the district ever face a prolonged closure.  One key part of the planning is providing students and families with educational work to support learning at home. This support will include paper assignments and also access to online learning.

This weekend I ask that you take a couple of minutes to complete a brief survey about your online and computer access at home. The information in this survey will help finalize plans for building and grade specific support.

You can find the survey by here: Survey Link

My best wishes to everyone for the weekend. May next week not only bring the warmer weather that is promised, but also better world news.
