Dear Region 6 Community,

I am very excited about moving into Distance Learning for our students and all that will come next week.  This week, I put forth a simple request to our students in grades 3-8. There are now over 130 emailed responses. There is still time to submit responses; but is clear, our students are more than ready to engage. So proud!

As a quick reminder all, of our schools, offices and campuses are closed during the executive order to Stay Home, Stay Safe.  This closure also includes our facilities and grounds (fields, playgrounds, parking lots, gymnasiums, etc.), as we do not have staff to monitor or clean these areas.  Please understand that currently there is very limited staff at schools keeping up with the day-to-day of deep cleaning, maintenance, mail, preparing paper packets for distance learning, and just paying the bills.  I thank everyone for understanding and am hopeful that the world returns to normal sooner rather than later.

As students are home, I wanted to share a cool link to America's Test Kitchen. You can find a great set of free culinary based learning options here: https://www.americastestkitchen.com/kids/home.

On another alternative activity note, the Governor just opened the fishing season two weeks early. With temperatures slated to be in the upper 50’s tomorrow, it might be worth a local adventure that stays within social distancing guidelines.

Stay Healthy. Stay Strong. Live Forward

PS:  If you are still reading, spoiler alerts:

1) An after (distance learning) school enrichment announcement is coming tomorrow.

2) Stay on the lookout for a video link that is coming this weekend.
