Dear RSD6 Community,

On October 25, 2017, I wrote and informed the community that the Thomaston Board of Education filed suit against the Region 6 Board of Education, Charles Rowland and me involving a dispute concerning the enrollment of students from Thomaston into the Agricultural and Science Technology Education Program (ASTEP) at WAMOGO.

Today I share that this case has been dismissed from Superior Court in Waterbury. A copy of the Memorandum of Decision can be found at the following link: http://civilinquiry.jud.ct.gov/DocumentInquiry/DocumentInquiry.aspx?DocumentNo=14649550

It is over 9 months since these students were accepted and started to attend WAMOGO. This has been a process and we will follow the process to a logical conclusion to protect the school choice options of students (Charter, Magnet, Vocational, Open Choice, and AgSci).

Considering a court decision was recently received we continue our hope, the same one since August, that an amicable resolution will be finalized. We will continue to try and collaborate with the Thomaston Public Schools to find a solution that works for both student school choice and districts.

Should you have any questions please never hesitate to contact me directly at 860.567.7400 or via email at cleone@rsd6.org.

Regards,

Chris
