Dear RSD6 Community,

I wanted to share several important dates for your calendar.

Last Day of School (Tentative)

We have had nine (9) snow days and we are watching another storm for this week. The original calendar called for 181 schools days and by law, we are required to have 180 school days. Therefore, as of today, the last day of school is projected to be Friday, June 22, 2018. I expect to finalize this date, and graduation, at the Board of Education Regular Meeting on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Town Tours – Part II

In December I had the opportunity to collaborate with our Selectmen to have three town gatherings. These meetings were insightful and provided a great opportunity for feedback from the communities. I am pleased to share that there will be a second round of meetings on the following dates and times:

Monday, March 26th at 6:00 p.m. in Warren Town Hall

Tuesday, March 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Morris Town Hall

Thursday, March 29th at 6:00 p.m. in Goshen Center School

I look forward to presenting the proposed budget for the 2018-2019 school year and hearing from our communities. The feedback from the community only makes RSD6 stronger and better moving forward.

Monday, April 2, 2018 – Professional Development Half Day

With the significant snow day interruptions, the district has lost important professional development days. One of these canceled days, March 7, was for our district work with Safe and Sound Schools.  We have been able to reschedule this work and Monday, April 2, 2018, will now be a half-day early release for professional development. During the evening there will also be a parent session including dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. in the WAMOGO cafeteria.  The presentation will begin in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m.  Childcare will be provided.

As always never hesitate to email or call my office. Best wishes to everyone for the start of spring.

Chris
