High Note Music Festival

On Friday, June 1st, the Wamogo Middle School Chorus and Band, along with the Elementary Advanced Chorus and Jazz Band, traveled to Lake Compounce for a music adjudication festival. The High Note Music Festival allowed students the opportunity to perform in front of their peers, a live audience, and accredited adjudicators.  Each performing group was provided feedback and commentary regarding their musical performances in order to help them grow as blossoming musicians and to encourage them to set goals for future performances. Each group came home with a trophy!

When students were not busy performing or watching their peers perform, they enjoyed the park’s many rides and attractions, from classic wooden coasters to shirt-soaking raft rides.  Though the day began with rain showers, the sun was shining brightly by the day’s end, and the students came home with another musical accomplishment under their belts. Region 6 music teachers Rebecca Geary (Wamogo choral director), Benjamin Loomis (Wamogo band director), Sarah Bills (elementary vocal director), and Caitlin Yovino (elementary band director) hope to make this an annual event.  Congratulations, Region 6 musicians!
