Hands and Heart

Dear RSD6 Community,

As a follow-up to this morning’s community message on Celebrating Good, I am delighted to say the Good continues to grow.

The scholarship for a graduating senior who intends to study and enter the healthcare profession following graduation has increased to $1,250 per school due to matching donations.  If you are a graduating senior, please email me ( your reasons for wanting to enter the healthcare profession.  Responses should not exceed 300 words and must be received by noon on May 14th.  An announcement on the scholarship recipients will be made on June 1st.

Also, due to overwhelming reaction there is a change in location for the drop off of Thank You cards for healthcare workers (professional and volunteer).  Completed cards can be dropped off in the box located directly outside of the District House at 35 Wamogo Road, Litchfield.  Cards will be collected until May 6th

In closing, I want to thank the anonymous donors for their generosity and kindheartedness toward our graduating seniors.  This has not been an easy experience for any student, but we are very mindful of the Class of 2020 and all the uncertainty in the world.  I continue to be in awe of the benevolent spirit of our community members and their support of one another.

Stay healthy.  Stay strong.  Keep living forward.
