Meetings are held the first Monday of each month in the school library at 7PM. (Occasionally there are conflicts such as holidays, snow days or other school activities that force us to change the date, so keep informed of current meeting schedules by checking E-blast notices or by following GCS PTO on Facebook)

PTO Committees
Cookie Dough Fundraiser: September - November/December
Arrange dates for selling, shipping and delivery, working with the school and the company to avoid vacations and holidays. Order sell sheets for students. Hand out and collect sell sheets, tally orders and receipts, arrange pick up by parents and get volunteers to help that day. One representative must attend PTO meetings during the corresponding months and provide updates. Send any announcements or information to the PTO president to be included in the weekly blast. 3 volunteers
Goshen Goes Green (reusable shopping bags) Fundraiser: September
PTO purchased $3,000 bags several years ago. We have about $1,400 left and hope to sell them all this 2012/13 school year. Help is needed to create awareness, distribute and collect order forms and distribute bags. 3 volunteers
A+ Bonus Bucks: May, June, September & October
Create contest to gather card numbers. Copy and distribute all necessary correspondence. Input all data on web site and update as needed. Organize party for class winners. One representative must attend PTO meetings during the corresponding months and provide updates. Send any announcements or information to the PTO president to be included in the weekly blast. 2 volunteers
Holiday Extravaganza: November & December
Work with teachers to make a schedule for shopping. Organize volunteers for wrapping that day. Several weeks prior to the event, solicit for wrapping paper, ribbon, tags etc. Copy and distribute all correspondence necessary. One representative must attend PTO meetings during the corresponding months and provide updates. Send any announcements or information to the PTO president to be included in the weekly blast. 3 volunteers
Pasta Supper: February, March & April
Organize the event, including securing volunteers to cook, serve, make desserts, raffle, ticket sales, set up and clean up. Create and send home flyers and as well as notices in the blast for donations for the raffle and promotion of the event. One representative must attend PTO meetings during the corresponding months and provide updates. Send any announcements or information to the PTO president to be included in the weekly blast. 6 volunteers
TV Turnoff Week: March & April
Organize 2 or 3 events for the week. Secure volunteers to help with whatever is needed. Create and send home flyers and notices for the blast. Promote the events through student council or contests. Fill out forms for use of the school. One representative must attend PTO meetings during the corresponding months and provide updates. Send any announcements or information to the PTO president to be included in the weekly blast. 5 volunteers
Kids Marathon: March, April, May & June
Help at trainings, encouraging runners and handing out rubber bands. Organize a schedule for donations of orange slices for refreshment and refueling. Help tally miles and charm totals (or whatever incentive prize is chosen) Help on race day handing out medals and tee shirts. 5 volunteers (Being a volunteer does not mean you have to run and coach!)
Teacher Appreciation: May
Organize a week of teacher pampering! Decorate the teacher’s lunch room and plan something delicious and/or fun for each day. Solicit volunteers to help with whatever is needed. 2 volunteers
Enrichment Committee: All year
Research, hire and schedule programs or people to come to our school for enrichment programs that accommodate all grade levels. 3 teachers and 3 parents
Farmers Market: May, June, September & October
Promote this PTO fundraiser through creative outreach and awareness, in conjunction with our Community Garden. 4 volunteers
Technology: All year
Fundraising to supplement technology in GCS that is not funded by the region. 4 volunteers
Boxtops: All year
Collect and trim boxtops each month. Organize and promote contests to encourage donations. Send totals to the PTO president each month to be reported at our monthly meetings. Make a poster for the school and update it every month. 2 volunteers
Other programs: Tree Lighting, Skate Night, End of Year Carnival
