LITCHFIELD_ In June the Litchfield Board of Education and Region 6 Board of Education approved a Memorandum of Agreement on sharing classes for the 2018-2019 school year.

The cooperative agreement allows for students at both Litchfield High School and WAMOGO to attend some classes on the neighboring campuses. Starting in August, WAMOGO will offer seats in Accounting II, Economics ECE, Spanish 4/5, AP Psychology, and AP Music Theory. Litchfield High School will offer seats in Latin III, AP Biology, AP Latin, and in Anatomy and Physiology.

"Region Six is excited about the opportunity for the students of WAMOGO and Litchfield High School," said Heather Connor, Board of Education Chair for Region 6. "This is an important step in collaboration for the two districts."

It is the hope and intention of the Boards that this is just the opening foray into continued and expanded collaboration between the districts in order to facilitate greater educational opportunities for students who are in schools with declining populations,” said Gayle Carr, Board of Education Chair for Litchfield.

Additionally, the agreement will allow for students to tryout and participate in theater performances. WAMOGO holds its annual performance in the fall while the Litchfield performance is in the spring.
