Dear RSD6 Community,

February was an exciting and busy month for the district and March promises even more on the calendar.

As we turn the calendar, both Girls and Boys Basketball teams are still going strong with Class S tournament games on the schedule. Swimming competed this weekend in the Berkshire League tournament and Unified Sports just recently made its debut. Mark your calendars for March 20th for the Winter Sports Awards night at WAMOGO.

On March 12th, the 2018-2019 proposed budget will be presented at the Board of Education Regular Meeting. The budget includes a 0% change to the overall local revenue and a $500,000 allocation to address long-needed facility improvements. We are reinvesting in our children and the future our district.

During the week of March 25th, I will travel to each of our three towns to hold budget information gatherings. I look forward to seeing community members at these events. The feedback gathered from December was important in our budget development and the increased communication will only make our district stronger.

Finally, as of today the last day of school will be June 20, 2018, if there are no other snow days. No matter how much I want to blame the groundhog it seems that more snow is always in the forecast. We must admit that this is New England and if we don't like the weather just wait a day or two.

It is truly amazing how quickly a school year passes.
